Janet Marlyn Bennett

Janet Marlyn Bennett, 87, of Cambridge, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.

Janet was born November 5, 1937, in Cambridge, Ohio, a daughter to the late Garland Garfield and Myrtle (Enochs) Schafer.

She was a member of the Cambridge Church of Christ and retired from NCR after twenty-three years. She enjoyed painting, flowers, watching her birds, making jewelry, cooking, traveling, shopping, desserts and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by, her husband Robert Edward Bennett Sr, whom she married March 13, 1954, and who passed July 2, 2003; her sister, Patsy Weber, her twin great- grandsons, Dalton and Journey Knight; her son- in-law, Larry Horton, and her special cousin, Dianna Pierce.

She is survived by her son Robert (Tamala) Bennett Jr of Senecaville; her daughters, Suzanne Horton of Senecaville and Tammie Hewison of Byesville; her grandchildren, Alan (April) Call, Erik Stillion, Joe Bennett, Kara Stillion, Brendan Pennington,  Cole (Alexis) Pennington, Rob (Pilar) Horton, Sara (Chris) Danko, and Kelly (Casey) Black; and her great- grandchildren, Alayna Call, Amelia Call, Mackenzie Stillion, T' Kya Knight, Kota Knight, K'Tahny Stillion, Hunter Street, Porter Pennington, Taylor Horton, Colin Horton, Kendal Black and Casen Black. Her memory will also be cherished by her nieces, nephews, and cousins, including Donetta Clark, and her church family.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 11AM until the time of the service at 1PM at Thorn- Black Funeral Home in Cambridge. Burial to follow at Northwood Cemetery. Pastor John Keith will officiate.
