Janet J. Lathan

Janet J. Lathan, 81, of Cambridge went home to be with the Lord on Monday (December 12, 2016) surrounded by her family. She was born January 10, 1935 in Barnesville, daughter of the late Robert Ford and Helen (Gibbons) Ford. Mrs. Lathan sold insurance for Lincoln Liberty for many years and had also worked at New Beginnings. She was a member of the New Bethel Methodist Church. She taught grief classes and was a part of the prison ministry. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, cooking, and baking. Prior to her move to Cambridge, she was a resident of Fort Walton Beach FL for thirty-five years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Lathan, who died in 1999. They were married on September 29, 1979. Also deceased is a brother, Larry Ford. She is survived by two sons, Steve Albaugh of Oklahoma and Tim (& Beverly) Albaugh of Senecaville; a daughter, Tara Kafury of Cambridge; a brother, Ron (& Judy) Ford of Florida; eight grandchildren, Scott Jones, Todd Jones, Shelly Jones, Gabe Kafury, Brad Albaugh, Matt Albaugh, Amber Albaugh, and Lauren Albaugh; and sixteen great-grandchildren. Private visitation was held for the family. No funeral services will be observed locally. Burial will be at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola FL.
