Janet Frame Morgan, 77, of Quaker City, passed away Friday (January 15, 2016) at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus. Born and raised at Gibson Station, she was a daughter of the late Cleland and Marie Frame. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Terry F. Morgan; two brothers, Galen Frame and Lowell Thomas Frame, and her infant twin brother, Norman Frame. Mrs. Morgan graduated from Old Washington High School, class of 1956. She earned her teaching certification from Ohio University in Athens, later graduating from Muskingum College with a Bachelor of Science in Education. In 1991, she earned her Master of Education degree from The Ohio State University. After retiring from teaching, she earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance from Muskingum University, fulfilling a lifelong dream. She was a teacher in Columbus, Pleasant City, Lore City, and was a long time fourth grade teacher at Quaker City School. Overall, she taught for 32 years, helping to shape the lives of hundreds of children in southeastern Ohio. Mrs. Morgan enjoyed serving the community she loved as a pianist and organist. Beginning her career as a church musician at age 12 at Salem Baptist Church, Janet served at many churches, including Quaker City United Methodist, Quaker City Christian, Quaker City Baptist, Salesville United Methodist, Salesville Church of Faith, Mt. Ephraim United Methodist, Old Concord United Methodist, and many others too numerous to mention. She also enjoyed playing at nursing homes throughout the area and other venues including the Gay 90's Museum in Barnesville. Morgan's Calliope was one of Janet's favorite pastimes in later years. Janet enjoyed playing her calliope at many local and regional events, especially the Ohio Hills Folk Festival in Quaker City. Janet also played piano at the Folk Festival hymn sing and participated in other musical and nonmusical Folk Festival events. Janet enjoyed many interests, including reading, traveling, genealogy, sewing, cake decorating, flower arranging, card making, and other arts and crafts. She was a 4-H leader, garden club member, and enjoyed people of all ages, and made many lifelong friends. Janet was a loving mother and grandmother, and devoted sister. She is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Sean) Leary of Columbus; Christy (David) Noeth of University Heights; and Diana (Bill) Harwood of Cedar Falls, Iowa; grandchildren Kate, Jonah, and Emma Leary; Jessica and Matthew Noeth; and Amanda, Seth, and Nathaniel Harwood; sisters, Becky Stillion of Cambridge and Alice Caw of Zanesville; brother, Wendell (Kate) Frame of West Milton PA; cousin, Flora Warden of Gahanna; and many other cousins, extended family members, and special friends. Visitation will be held Friday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and also on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City. Funeral services will be held Saturday (January 23, 2016) at 12 noon at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, with Pastor Tom Matus officiating. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City.
