Jay Franklin Anker

April 21, 1961 — January 21, 2018

Jay Franklin Anker, 56, of Cambridge, died Sunday (January 21, 2018) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. He was born April 21, 1961 in Cambridge, son of the late James R. Anker and Jeannine M. (King) Anker. Mr. Anker worked for Dean Food Company, driving a milk truck and delivering dairy for many years. He served as president of his union. He was a 1979 graduate of Cambridge High School and was a member of the Guernsey County Bass Association. Previously, he had been a member of the Y City Bass Club. His family and grandchildren were the loves of his life. He was easy-going, hard-working, and never met a stranger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey Anker. He is survived by his wife, Teresa (Stover) Anker, whom he married November 26, 1983; a son, Clayton (& Chrissy) Anker of Cambridge; a daughter, Jayme Anker of Cambridge; a sister, Karen (& Randy) Winnett of Cambridge; three grandchildren, Mayzie Lynn Harper of Cambridge, Lynn Anker of Coshocton, and Madison Anker of Coshocton; many nieces and nephews; his "adopted" son, Ryan Boyer of Dayton; and many, many close friends. Visitation will be held Friday (January 26, 2018) from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor Mark Slay officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be sent to the Guernsey County Bass Association.
