Jay Alan Milton

Jay Alan Milton, 61, of Cambridge, was called home to be with the Lord on July 17, 2026.

Born on August 19, 1964, in Cambridge, Jay was the beloved son of James and Fern Milton.

Throughout his life, Jay was a man of few words who found contentment in a simple, private life. He enjoyed walking around town and especially loved the duck pond at Cambridge City Park. His vision led to the addition of the first fountain in the pond, enhancing a place he treasured. In his youth, Jay was baptized at First Christian Church. He graduated from Cambridge High School, where he was a member of the school band. As a young adult, he enjoyed singing with the Cambridge Singers, The Young Messiahs, a Christian music group, and his church choir. The Salt Fork Arts & Crafts Festival was one of his favorite annual traditions, and he never missed a year.

Jay was a dedicated employee at Walmart until his early retirement. Later in life, he became a faithful attendee of Cambridge Presbyterian Church, where he found joy in worship and singing with the church choir. Though he preferred a quiet life and often kept to himself, those fortunate enough to know Jay will remember his kind heart and gentle spirit. Throughout his life, many members of the Cambridge community showed him Christian love and kindness. Though they may never fully know the difference they made, their compassion was deeply appreciated and will not be forgotten.

In addition to his parents, Jay was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Milton. He is survived by his sister, Donna (Michael) Hill of Topeka, Kansas; his niece and nephew; two great-nieces; three great-nephews; numerous cousins and other extended family members; extended family and many dear friends and neighbors who will miss him greatly.

Jay will be remembered for his quiet strength, gentle nature, and the simple joy he found in the people and places he loved. In accordance with Jay's wishes, no public services will be held. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Thorn-Black Funeral Homes. Friends and family are invited to share memories and condolences on the funeral home's website.
