Jeanne M. Jones

Jeanne M. "Meem" Jones, 96, of Cambridge, died Friday (April 20, 2018) at Southeastern Med, Cambridge. She was born August 22, 1921 in Poland Center, daughter of the late Elmer and Pearl Peterson Mentzer. She was a graduate of Lowellville High School and was married to Charles J. Jones Sr., who passed in 1996. She was an avid bridge player and golfer, and was active in many local civic organizations. She was instrumental in founding the local Camp Fire group, and organized and ran the Junior Golf program at the Cambridge County Club for many years. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and John Mentzer. She leaves three children: son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Lynne Jones of Cambridge; daughter and son-in-law, Leah and Mike Summers of Los Angeles CA; and daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Dale Milligan of Cambridge; five grandchildren, Clint Jones (Danelle Gay), Zara Summers (Rob Carr), Ida Doutt, Chelsea Milligan, and Porter Milligan; and three great-grandchildren, Olivia Jeanne Jones, Parker Charles Jones, and Osgood Emerson Carr. Per Jeanne's request, no calling hours will be observed. Burial will be at a later date. "FIYEA!"
