Jeannette V. Gossett

Jeannette V. Gossett, 99, of Salesville, died Monday (November 22, 2010) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. She was born October 12, 1911 in Bethesda, daughter of the late Harry W. Lewis and Nellie (Miller) Lewis. Mrs. Gossett was a homemaker. She was the oldest member of the Salesville Church of Faith, where she taught Sunday School. She was a good Christian lady of faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Jode Johnson, who died in 1933; her 2nd husband, Herbert M. Gossett Sr., who died January 1, 1986; a daughter, Wanda Jean Wilcox; two granddaughters, Kathy Pulley and Pam Johnson; two brothers; and a sister. She is survived by four sons, Herbert (& Cora Lee) Gossett Jr. of Quaker City, David R. (& Sheryl) Gossett of Salesville; John (& Gladys) Johnson of Salesville, and Harry D. Johnson of Peninsula; a daughter, Virginia (& Ernie) Knott of Seegertown PA; twenty grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews. Family and friends may call on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where funeral services will be held Saturday (November 27, 2010) at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Johnson, Rev. Jim Lee, and Rev. Jeff Eschbaugh officiating. Burial will be at Salesville Cemetery.
