Jeffery "Jeff" Allen Doherty

Jeffery Allen "Jeff" Doherty, 55, of Byesville, died Tuesday (October 3, 2017) at his home. He was born May 29, 1962 in Dover, son of Ralph Doherty and Arlene (Dean) Doherty. Mr. Doherty worked in the oil fields for many years. Most recently, he had worked as a blender operator at Kerry. He enjoyed working on his old car. He was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Doherty. He is survived by his wife, Sheila (McFaddyen) Doherty, whom he married October 25, 1980; his parents, Ralph and Arlene Doherty of Cambridge; a daughter, Janeece Jo (& Travis) Blackstone of Byesville; two sons, Jeffery Allen Doherty Jr. of Cambridge and Justin Michael (& Sara) Doherty of Cambridge; two sisters, Debbie Doherty of Cambridge and Darlene (& George) Urey of Cambridge; ten grandchildren, Amber Blackstone, Alexa Blackstone, Adian Doherty, Alissa Doherty, Cash Doherty, Emma Doherty, Lily Doherty, Alex Doherty, Justin Doherty Jr., and Rustin Doherty; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his dog, Bink. Visitation will be held Saturday (October 7, 2017) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge. As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Guernsey Inc., PO Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725.
