Jennie Mabel Goodhart

Jennie M. (Gray) Goodhart, 88, of Batesville, passed away Wednesday (December 3, 2014) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center. She was born March 29, 1926 in Barnesville, daughter of the late Clyde and Mary (Thompson) Gray. Jennie was a homemaker and had previously worked as a Campus factory worker in Barnesville. She was a member of the Batesville United Methodist Church. Jennie enjoyed warm weather, sitting on her front porch talking with friends and family. She loved eating out, caring for her farm animals, feeding her cats, and attending church services. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald "Boob" Goodhart, who passed away April 30, 2001. They were married February 19, 1949. Also deceased are two brothers, Fred and Harold Gray; and two sisters, Hazel Anderson and Edna Fowler. She is survived by two sons, John (Debbie) Goodhart of Seneca Lake and Mark (Lisa) Goodhart of Batesville; a daughter, Linda (Dean) Pearson of Batesville; a brother, Jack Gray of Barnesville; three grandchildren, Eric Dean Pearson of Sandusky, Ashley (Tommy) Brown Jr. of Seneca Lake, and Samantha Goodhart of Batesville; and a great-grandson, Jase Brown. Visitation will be held Saturday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where funeral services will be held Sunday (December 7, 2014) at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Carol Touvell officiating. Burial will be at Batesville Cemetery.
