Jennie Lou Owens, 70, of Cambridge, died Saturday (July 16, 2016) at her home. She was born July 7, 1946 in Barnesville, daughter of the late Dewey George Touvelle and Clara Elizabeth (McGee) Touvelle. Ms. Owens retired from the former Cambridge State Hospital, where she had been an LPN for many years. She was a graduate of the Marietta College of Nursing. She was a member of the Red Cross, the Homemakers Club, and the Ham Radio Club. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed arts and crafts, and was an animal lover. Ms. Owens was Methodist by faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Owens; a sister, Pauline Touvelle; and a half-brother, David Touvelle. She is survived by two daughters, Julia (& David) Cicero of Parma Heights and Wendy Owens of Marietta; three grandchildren, Jacob Johnson, Rachel Cicero, and Sarah Cicero; and her beloved friends, Joe & Julie Johnson, Larry Dukes, Shirley Watson, and Dan & Lori Stoner. Visitation will be held Thursday (July 21, 2016) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh officiating. As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Guernsey County Public Library, 63500 Byesville Road, Cambridge OH 43725.
