Jerry "Jake" Stewart, 72, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022, at his home with his loving wife and best friend by his side.
Jake was born September 22, 1950, a son of the late James and Ethel (Rayner) Stewart.
He was an avid Ohio State and Dallas Cowboys fan. He also enjoyed softball, bowling, and camping with his lake family. His most enjoyed moments were spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. He loved and cherished his entire family.
Jake was an active member of F.O.E. 386 Eagles Club and a member of the Moose Lodge 631.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Russel Stewart, Richard Stewart, and Joe Stewart, two sisters, Mary Neff and Bonnie Gordon, and his father- in- law Robert Vance.
Jake is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sandy (Vance) Stewart, whom he married, February 27, 1971, two daughters Amy (& Jason) Stewart of Cambridge and Angie Muncy (& Tom Perkins) of Byesville, three brothers, Buddy (& Lisa) Stewart of Cambridge, Bill (& Beth) Stewart of Cambridge, Rex (& Sherry) Stewart of Cambridge, and one sister Sandy Watson of Cambridge.
Also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Derek (& Kelsey) Muncy of Byesville, Anthony Bowers of Cambridge, Amanda Eltringham of Quaker City, Amber Muncy of Cambridge, Daniel Muncy of Cambridge, Kelsey (& Matt) Durben of Cambridge, Brittany (& Donovan) Laughman of Byesville and David (& Kayla) Muncy of Salesville, his 23 great grandchildren in which he adored; mother- in- law Shirley Vance, sister- in- law Judy Lingle, many nieces and nephews, and many friends that he considered family.
Visitation will be held at Thorn- Black Funeral Home in Cambridge on Thursday, January 5, 2023, from 11am until the start of the service at 1pm with Pastor Karen Rawlins officiating. Burial will follow at Northwood Cemetery.
