Jerry D. Hickman

Jerry D. Hickman, 56, of Cambridge, died Tuesday (March 22, 2016) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. He was born December 11, 1959 in Cambridge, son of Marion Hickman and the late Mary Francis (Nickell) Hickman. Mr. Hickman worked at J&K Angus as a meat cutter for many years. He was a member of the Stop Nine Church of Christ. Mr. Hickman was a US Army veteran and a member of the Cambridge VFW Post 2901. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was well known to be able to fix anything mechanical when needed. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Finley and Bertha Nickell; his paternal grandparents, Jesse and Edna Hickman; and his step-grandparents, Lillie and Louie Stephen. He is survived by his wife, Christina (Dailey) Hickman; his father and mom, Marion and Janet (Stephen) Hickman of Cambridge; two sons, Shawn Hickman (& Carrie King) of Byesville and Michael Lowery of Zanesville; two daughters, Mary Francis Blam of Germany and Julia (& Christoph) Streb of Germany; a brother, Lee (& Laurie) Ritterbeck of Cleveland; six sisters, Debbie Kirkbride of Cambridge, Tammy Hickman of Cambridge, Teresa (& Brent) Addy of Cambridge, Robin (& Steven) Perry of Las Vegas NV, Holly (& Scott) Stoney of Byesville, and April Hickman of Cambridge; three grandchildren, Zander Hickman, Caden Ball, and Malea Blam; and many nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held Friday (March 25, 2016) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, with military honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
