Jessie E Wheatley

Jessie E. Wheatley, 87, of Cambridge, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on March 19th, 2018, at Greystone Health and Rehabilitation Center of Cambridge.

She was born on June 15th 1930, daughter of the late Ben Tidrick and Mabel Pearl Gardner-Tidrick.

Mrs. Wheatley retired from NCR after 26 years and she also worked at RCA.  She was a dedicated homemaker, amazing cook and loved her family.  She enjoyed crocheting and loved gospel music.  She was a member of the Cambridge 1st Church of the Nazarene.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo "Red" Wheatley, whom she married on November 1st, 1952, and who passed in 1997; three infant brothers, and two sisters, Marie Canfield and Veda Edmondson.

She is survived by two sons; Brent (& Colleen) Wheatley and Kevin (& Roberta) Wheatley, of Cambridge; a daughter, Cindy Wheatley of Cambridge; a sister, Dessie Casebeer of Goshen; six grandchildren, Melissa (& Charley) LaCroix of New Concord, Jennifer (& Chad) Mann, of Cambridge, Kelly (& Nathan Riddle) Wheatley of New Concord, Veronica Haney and Krista (& Cory) Snodgrass of Cambridge, Jeremy (& Kara) McFarland of Dublin; Fourteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and friends.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 22nd from 11 am to 1 pm at Thorn-Black Funeral Home in Cambridge where services will immediately follow at 1 pm, with Pastor Josh Blinson officiating.  Burial will follow at Guernsey Memory Gardens in Cambridge

The family of Jessie would like to thank the entire staff of Greystone Healthcare and Rehabilitation for their dedicated care and service for the last four and a half year,s as well as those in the organization of Hospice of Guernsey for their assistance during this difficult time.
