Joan Catherine Kuck

Joan Catherine Kuck, 89, of Cambridge, died Monday (March 30, 2015) surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 31, 1925 in Connersville IN, daughter of the late John Meyer and Margaret (Hill) Meyer. Mrs. Kuck worked at the former Guernsey Memorial Hospital for twenty years in the dietary staff department. She retired in 1987. She was a member of Christ Our Light Parish. She loved to play cards and other games with her family. She enjoyed her semi-annual trips to casinos. She loved to bake and cook dinners for the family. She also enjoyed playing golf and going dancing during her years with her husband, Donald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Kuck, who died September 12, 1989. They were married November 19, 1944. Also deceased are three brothers, John Bernard "JB" Meyer, Charles Meyer, and Bobby Meyer; two sisters, Betty Campbell and Marjorie Bergdorf; and a grandson, Joshua Kuck. She is survived by two daughters, Donna (& Bob) Huffman of Cambridge and Pam (& Terry) Phipps of Cambridge; two sons, Stuart (& Sandy) Kuck of Coshocton and Rus (& Yon Hwa) Kuck of Frederick MD; a sister, Bea Harper of Dayton; a brother-in-law, Lloyd (& Lois) Kuck of Dayton; seven grandchildren, Joe (& Maxine) Huffman, Matt (& Lisa) Huffman, Jim Huffman, Teresa McCulley, Joshua Kuck, Andrea Kuck, and Lia Kuck; six great-grandchildren, Mandy, Robbie, Christopher (& Meghan), Cody, Tyler, and Kimmy; and five great-great-grandchildren, Averie, Kayden, Kendall, Cru, and Jonas. Visitation will be held Thursday (April 2, 2015) from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, with funeral services following at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Christ Our Light Parish, 701 Gomber Avenue, Cambridge OH 43725.
