Joan Stover-Hine, 80, of Byesville, completed her life's journey and went to be with the Lord after passing away peacefully in her sleep at Red Carpet Health Care Center, Cambridge, on Thursday (Dec. 1, 2011). She was born in Cambridge March 17, 1931, the daughter of the late Marion and Leona (Ross) Myers. Joan was a Baptist by faith. She was a longtime member of the VFW and had worked many years for NCR. She enjoyed playing cards, reading her Bible, and writing poems. Joan also managed many apartment complexes while living in Las Vegas. Joan had several poems published in magazines and books throughout the years. Joan was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her first husband, Robert T. Stover in 1972; then her second husband, Hubert "Bert" Hine in 1989; and a son, Robert T. Stover Jr. in 2008. Joan is survived by a son, Ed (Denise) Stover of Cambridge; two daughters, Nancy (Harold) Koontz of Chatanooga, Tenn., and Beeg (Joe) Parry of Byesville; a sister, Nancy (Walter) Grewell of Newcomerstown; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Also are good friends and family members, Uldine Bates, Marge Stover, Mary Stover, and several nieces and nephews. In following with Joan's wishes, cremation has taken place. No calling hours will be observed. A private memorial service will be held by the family. Private burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, Byesville, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to: Wags to Riches, 356 Highland Ave., Cambridge, OH 43725, due to Joan's love of animals.
