Joanne (Lashley) Ahrendts

Joanne R. Ahrendts, 82, of New Concord, Ohio died Wednesday morning, January 27, 2016 at Beckett House-New Concord. Born December 29, 1933 in Senecaville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Potts) Lashley. Joanne attended Senecaville High School and the Cambridge Beauty School. She was the owner of Lovely Lady Beauty Salon-Merle Norman Cosmetics; co-owner of A&A Plastic Finishing and was a co-developer of The Colonial Heights subdivision in New Concord. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She also enjoyed collecting antiques, especially Cambridge Glass. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Keith D. Ahrendts, who died November 30, 2001. They were married December 31, 1988. Also deceased are her sister and brother-in-law, Belva and Bill Warden; her brother, Robert Lashley; her nephew, Randy Lashley; and her niece, LuAnn Danford. Joanne is survived by her five daughters, Diane (Fred) Mottice of Louisville, Deborah Huntsman of Hudson, Vicki (Dan Givens) Huntsman of Uhrichsville, Valerie (Ed) Clewell of Cambridge, and Rachel (Jeff) McKirahan of New Concord; one son, Ronald (Jen) Davis of Zanesville; and her sister, Donna (Herb) Lowry of Senecaville. In addition, she is survived by her sixteen grandchildren, Amy, Emily, Cortney, Christopher, Elijah, Ashley, Andrea, Cristin, Erin, Whitney, Jordan, Kaden, Paige, Alli, Elle and Regan; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Caitlyn, Randi, Kyleigh, Jeremy, Clayton, Tyler, Rory, Anderson, Karson, Willow, Carter and Trenton. They were Nan-Nan's pride and joy. Visitation will be held Saturday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and also on Sunday (January 31, 2016) from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Senecaville Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family at Mr. Lee's Restaurant following the burial. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the LuAnn Danford Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o East Guernsey Schools 237 Beymer Road, Old Washington, Ohio 43768 or the East Muskingum Student Endowment Fund 13505 John Glenn School Road, New Concord, Ohio 43762. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
