Joe Dean

Joe Dean, 73, of Kimbolton, died Sunday (August 28, 2011) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. He was born October 28, 1937 in Ranger WV, son of the late Edward Dean and Hattie May (Adkins) Dean. Mr. Dean was a machinist for the Ford Motor Company, retiring in 1991 after thirty-five years of service. He attended Clearfork Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven sisters, Opal Napier, Edna Dean, Ruby Jean Dean, Shirley Dean, Stella Dean, Virginia Chapman, and Garnet Adkins; and three brothers, Burgess Dean, Rayburn Dean, and Bill Dean. He is survived by his wife, Frankie M. (Lambert) Dean, whom he married June 21, 1958; a daughter, Drema Lynn Dean of Brunswick; a granddaughter, Heather Fletcher; a great-granddaughter, Faith Fletcher; two brothers, Aubrey Dean of Ranger WV and Jim (& Barb) Dean of Litchfield; two sisters, Marie (& Virgil) Headley of Ashland KY and Martha (& Paul) Day of Barbesville WV; a special friend, Steve (& Robin) Napier of North Royalton; and many nieces & nephews. Family and friends may call on Wednesday (August 31, 2011) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where a funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Craig Murray officiating. Additional visitation will be held Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, 6670 McClellan Street, West Hamlin WV, where funeral services will be held on Friday (September 2, 2011) at 2 p.m. Burial will be at the Dean Family Cemetery in Ranger WV.
