John "Jack" Abraham Campbell

John "Jack" Abraham Campbell, 81, of Cambridge, died Tuesday (August 20, 2019) at his home.

He was born February 12, 1938 in Claysville, son of the late Charles R. Campbell and Mary (Norman) Campbell.

Mr. Campbell had worked for twenty-eight years with B&O Railroad and Chessie as a dispatcher. He was also a farmer.

He enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre, with his family.

He was a member of the Claysville United Methodist Church.

Mr. Campbell was a US Air Force veteran, having served from 1955 to 1959.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Campbell.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Marie (Roscoe) Campbell, whom he married March 24, 1960; two sons, Gary (& Kristie) Campbell of Cambridge and John (& Jennifer) Campbell of Nashville TN; two daughters, Nancy (& Bud) Bierhaus of Katy TX and Mary (& Mark) Warehime of Cambridge; a brother, Robert (& Geraldine) Campbell of Cambridge; twelve grandchildren, Michelle, Melissa, Matthew, Jamie, Megan, Jessica, Buddy, Brooke, Beth, Blake, Lindsey, and Lucas; and six great-grandchildren, Madysin, Karleigh, Natalie, Cooper, Clayton, and Tanner.

Visitation will be held Sunday (August 25, 2019) from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Monday (August 26, 2019) at 11 a.m. with Pastor Keith Taylor officiating.

Burial will be at Zion Cemetery, Westland Township, with military graveside honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
