John E. Beckett

John E. Beckett, 63, of Cambridge, died Saturday (May 21, 2011) at his residence. He was born February 24, 1948 in Huntington WV, son of the late John Beckett Jr. and Estelle Virginia (Triplett) Beckett. Mr. Beckett was a US Navy veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Cambridge VFW Post 2901. He is survived by four sons, Mike (& Pricella) Tomplait of Delaware, Kevin (& Amanda) Tomplait of Senecaville, Jason (& Kelly) Tomplait of Pataskala, and John Beckett of Cambridge; a daughter, Jessy Beckett (& Robert Cooper) of Cambridge; two step-brothers; and six grandchildren. Family and friends may call on Friday (May 27, 2011) from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 5 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
