John H. Borton, 82, of Quaker City, died Wednesday (January 2, 2019) at Astoria Place of Barnesville.
He was born June 14, 1936 in Guernsey County, son of the late John C. Borton and Wilma (Groves) Borton.
A 1954 graduate of Barnesville High School, Mr. Borton retired from North American – Ohio Valley Coal where he had worked in the #6 mine as a coal miner for many years. He was a member of the UMW #1810.
Mr. Borton was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Barnesville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence Borton and Charles Borton.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be held at Fletcher Cemetery, Quaker City, on Monday (January 7, 2019) at 11 a.m. with Pastor Robert Merritt and Pastor Rodney West officiating.
