John Robert Eynon

John Robert (Apple) Eynon passed away Monday, September 26, 2022, peacefully at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, with his beloved family at his side.

John was born June 1, 1937, in Cambridge, Ohio, a son to the late John Percy Ralphe and Florence Matilda (Ogle) Eynon.

He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1955 and worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad for the next 45 years. John was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church of Cambridge, and was a long-time member of the Cambridge Moose and V.F.W.

John had a love for all sports especially the Cleveland Browns, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Cleveland Guardians. Bluegrass and classic country were always playing when John had his way. He was a heck of a euchre player, and most of all John loved spending time with his wife Dotty and family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, George Richard Eynon, his brothers Fred L. Eynon, and Percy Ralphe (Killer) Eynon, one sister, Helen Lucille (Eynon) Shephard, and his previous wife, Cherie Kay (Dyer) Eynon.

John is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy (Dotty) Keith Eynon, two daughers, Beth (Eynon) Seckman of Belle Valley and Shari Kay Eynon of Solvang, California, two stepdaughters, Kelly Jo Dyer with David Kreinbring of Jacksonville, Florida, and Kacy Jetta (Shane) Sunderlin of New Philadelphia, three stepsons, Steven (Diane) Warden, Todd Warden, and Gary Warden all of Cambridge. Also left to cherish his memory is his brother, Harry Edward Eynon of New Philadelphia, one sister, Nelly Jean (Eynon) Wendell of North Olmstead, four grandchildren, Monica (Jade) Martin, Heather (Derick) Seckman Whiting, Brittany, and Trevor Sunderlin, five great grandchildren, Hayden Seckman, Levi Martin, Connor Whiting, Aaden and Brylie Sunderlin, and of course, his beloved dog Skeeter.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 29, 2022, from 5-7 PM and Friday, September 30, 2022, from 11-1 PM, with funeral service to follow at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Cambridge.
