John D. Hickman Sr.

July 30, 1942 — October 20, 2017

John D. Hickman, Sr., 75, of Lore City, died Friday (October 20, 2017) at The Cleveland Clinic.

He was born July 30, 1942 in Cambridge, son of the late Jesse Hickman and Edna F. (Roberts) Hickman.

Mr. Hickman worked for Ables Electric Company and then for Williams and Company where he retired.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge of Cambridge and the Eagles Club where he was a member for more than 50 years.

He loved fishing and hunting.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Theodore Hickman, Kenny Hickman, and Kevin Hickman; a sister, Florence Wyckoff; and a grandson, John Hickman III.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Stroud) Hickman; three sons, John David Hickman Jr. of Cambridge, Mark (Jill) Hickman of Cambridge and Mike (Mary) Hickman of Coshocton; two daughters, Joyce (Jim) Phillips of Cambridge and Karen (Dan) Mizer of Zanesville; two step-daughters, Toni Fisher of St. Clairsville and Lora Christman of Quaker City; a brother, Marion (Janet) Hickman of Cambridge; a sister; Judith Coulson of Cambridge; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
