John W. Howard

John W. Howard, 76, of Cambridge, died Sunday (November 13, 2011) at his home. He was born March 28, 1935 in Winter Haven FL, son of the late Charles W. Howard and Sabra M. (Adkins) Howard. Mr. Howard retired after twenty years of service at Fabri-Form, where he had worked in the maintenance department. He attended Cambridge High School. Mr. Howard was a US Air Force veteran, having served for twenty years. He enjoyed gardening, working in his yard, and also fishing. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Tucker and Mary Mathews; and a brother, Herb Howard. He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Eileen (Heckman) Howard of the home, whom he married October 6, 1956; a daughter, Kim (& Barry) Ramsay of Cambridge; a sister-in-law, Vicki Heckman of Minnesota; a grandson, Ryan (& Tessa) Heavilin of Cambridge; a great-grandson, Jackson Heavilin of Cambridge; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends may call on Wednesday (November 16, 2011) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. with Rev. Oscar Brown officiating.
