John Howard "Jack" McCollum, 84, of Cambridge, died Sunday (April 12, 2020) at Aultman Hospital.
He was born December 6, 1935 in Columbus, son of the late Charles Howard McCollum and Pearl Leota (Jirles) McCollum.
Mr. McCollum was employed with NCR for twenty-six years. He was a mechanical inspector for most of those years. He was also president of the IBEW Local #1854 union. Before working at NCR, he worked at RCA for ten years.
He was Methodist by faith.
Mr. McCollum was a US Army veteran, having served in the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Wilson) McCollum; two sons, Jerry Lee McCollum of Cambridge and Richard Allan McCollum of Cambridge; a daughter, Karen Sue McCollum of Cambridge; a brother, Paul Lee (& Joan) McCollum of Seffner FL; and a grandchild, Brandon John McCollum.
Private services and burial will be held at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge, with military graveside honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
