John A. Hughes

John A. Hughes, 87, of Cambridge, went to be with the Lord on Saturday (January 1, 2011). He died at the Beckett House at New Concord. He was born July 21, 1923 in Tazewell County VA. Mr. Hughes was a former resident of Delaware OH, where he owned & operated an auto body supply business as well as a used car agency. He was a kind and gentle man, who was loved by his family and those who were blessed to have known him. He will always be missed, but will live in our hearts and memories forever. He is survived by his wife, N. Jean (Blancett) Gray-Hughes of Cambridge, whom he married May 10, 1980; a niece, Sarah Jeanette of Delaware; four step-children, Linda McWhorter, Rev. Nancy Parsons, Dyanne Hudson, and Stephen Gray; ten grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call on Wednesday (January 5, 2011) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Nancy Parsons officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
