John Law, 96, of Lore City, died Monday (December 21, 2015) at Astoria Place of Cambridge. He was born March 4, 1919 in Middlebourne, son of the late Thomas S. Law and Mary Alice (Carter) Law. Mr. Law was a retired bus driver for Madison Schools and East Guernsey Schools. He was a farmer with his wife for many years. He loved working with wood - making baskets, yard ornaments, etc. He had also worked at Cambridge Glass and Universal Pottery. He attended the Antrim United Methodist Church. He was a member of Modern Woodmen of America and Farm Bureau Council 2A. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Scott and Mabel Eagon. He is survived by his wife, Clara Mae (Bean) Law, whom he married June 19, 1946; a daughter, Shirley (& Anthony) Monaco of Lawrenceville GA; a grandson, William Troy Potts of Georgia; a nephew, Roger Scott; a sister-in-law, Elaine Bean; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Monday (December 28, 2015) at 1 p.m. with Rev. Nancy Parsons and Pastor Richard Carpenter officiating. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City.
