John R. Miller

John R. Miller, 86, formerly of Quaker City, died Tuesday (February 8, 2011) at the Autumn Health Care Center. He was born February 17, 1924 in Quaker City, son of the late Andrew Miller and Pearl (Conner) Miller. Mr. Miller retired from the B&O Railroad, where he had worked as a rail hand. He was Protestant by faith. Mr. Miller was a US Army veteran, having served during WWII. He was a life member of the VFW Post 2901 and a life member of the Earl Conner American Legion Post #337. He was an avid bass fisherman. He is survived by a brother, Floyd E. "Bud" (& Hilda) Miller of Quaker City; and a nephew, James Miller of Bellaire. A private funeral service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Quaker City.
