John R. Workman Jr.

John R. Workman Jr., 68, of Cambridge, died Sunday (August 16, 2015) at The James Cancer Center, Columbus. He was born August 26, 1946 at Lock 17, son of the late John R. Workman Sr. and Sara (Whipple) Workman. Mr. Workman had worked for several years with Valley Mining. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Cambridge. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He cherished spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda L. (Suto) Workman, who died January 19, 2005. They were married June 19, 1987. Also deceased is a brother, Edward. He is survived by two sons, Larry (& Mary) Workman of Lore City and JR Workman of Cambridge; a daughter, Amy (& Harold) Workman of Winterset; three brothers, Paul, Samuel, and Elmer Workman; two sisters, Ruth Sanders and Roselle "Sissy" Sanders; three grandchildren, Larry Workman, Samantha Workman, and Hailey Workman; and many nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held Friday (August 21, 2015) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to Thorn-Black Funeral Home (139 S 9th Street, Cambridge OH 43725) to help with the family with funeral expenses.
