Joseph Patrick Dever, 39, of New Concord, passed away Sunday (December 13, 2009) at the Genesis-Good Samaritan Medical Center, Zanesville. He was born August 14, 1970 in Zanesville, son of Phill Dever and Linda (Morrison) Dever. Mr. Dever was the operations manager for Devco Oil. He was a member of the Ohio Oil and Gas Association. He was a 1989 graduate of John Glenn High School and a graduate of Northwest Diesel College. Mr. Dever was a member of the Cambridge Country Club and enjoyed golfing. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Frank Dever and William Morrison; and an uncle, Dennis Bame. He is survived by his parents, Phill and Linda Dever of Norwich; a daughter, Angel Renee Dever; a brother, Todd (& Cassie) Dever; a nephew, Noah; his maternal grandmother, Mildred Morrison; his paternal grandmother, Lavon Dever; and numerous friends and extended family members. Family and friends may call on Wednesday (December 16, 2009) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge.
