Joseph L. Glover

Joseph L. Glover, 81, of Cambridge, died Sunday (October 29, 2017) at Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was born July 7, 1936 in Cambridge, son of the late Richard Glover and Selester (Odum) Glover. Mr. Glover retired after working for twenty years at Centria and worked at NCR for four years. He was also a former police officer from New York City NY He was Baptist by faith. He was a 1953 graduate of Old Washington High School. Mr. Glover was a US Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Glover; five brothers, Henry, Bob, Richard, Harrison, and Gus Glover; and a sister, Charity Early. He is survived by three sons, Joe Glover Jr. of Cambridge, Jerry (& Jennifer) Glover of Cambridge, and Charles (& Nicki) Glover of Atlanta GA; a daughter, Renee Glover (& Darrell McGill) of Atlanta GA; two sisters, Mattie Green and Gladys Peoples; ten grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Visitation will be held Thursday (November 2, 2017) from 11 am. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
