Joseph D. Nasworthy, 67, of Cambridge, died Saturday, April 26, 2014 at home.
He was born February 13, 1947 in Watertown NY, son of Charles B. and Ruth M.(Landis) Nasworthy.
Mr. Nasworthy was a skilled labor construction worker for many years.
He was a life-member of the Cambridge VFW Post #2901 and a member of the American Legion of Watertown, NY.
Mr. Nasworthy was a US Army and US Navy veteran, having served during the Vietnam War, where he survived as a POW for 18 months, and was awarded a Purple Heart.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Nasworthy, brother-in-laws, Charles, Clarence, Pete, Jim, and Terry Lashley Sr., and half brother, Bob McHenry.
He is survived by his wife, Anna (Lashley) Nasworthy of the home, whom he married March 2, 1984, his parents, Charles B. and Ruth M. Nasworthy of Houston, TX; three daughters, Kathy (Tom) Falcon, Philadelphia, PA, Tammy (Tim) Clark and Kimberly Fleming, both of watertown,NY; four brothers, Richard (Kay) Nasworthy of Houston, TX, Robert Nasworthy and Barb Haynes of Watertown, NY, Marvin (Sue) Nasworthy of Watertown, NY, and William Nasworthy of Watertown, NY; and two sisters, Sherry (James) Lashley of Trinity TX and Candy (Dwight) Cline, Houston, TX., six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, god children, Miranda and Gabriel Dailey, and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday (April 29, 2014) from 11:00am-1:00pm at Thorn-Black Funeral Home in Cambridge, where services will begin at 1:00 pm with Evang. Woody Biggs officiating.
Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery with the Guernsey CountyVeterans Council conducting Military services.
