Joyce Elaine Wyers

Joyce Elaine Wyers, 88, of Cambridge, died Friday (December 24, 2021) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge.

She was born February 19, 1933 in Akron, daughter of the late George Horatio Wearley and Alice Marie (Rose) Wearley.

Mrs. Wyers worked at Muskingum College in the food service department for many years.

She was Protestant by faith.

Mrs. Wyers was a member of the Guernsey County Senior Citizens Center.  She enjoyed all of her family and grandchildren dearly.  She loved to watch Jeopardy!

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Wyers, who died August 8, 2015.  They were married November 24, 1951.  Also deceased are three sons, Mark Allen Wyers, Dennis Ray Wyers, and an infant son, Raymond Wyers Jr.; and a son-in-law, Charles Hale.

She is survived by three sons, Terry (Candy) Wyers of Ravenna, Steven Michael (Carolyn) Wyers of Byesville, and Jeffrey (Donna) Wyers of Byesville; two daughters, Cheryl Hale of Cambridge and Caryll Hickman of Cambridge; a sister, Donna Arens of Miami FL; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Wyers of Ravenna and Charlene Brown-Todd of Ravenna; a daughter-in-law, Debi Wyers of Cambridge; and many grandchildren & great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday (December 30, 2021) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Friends and family are welcome, but due to COVID-19 please take all necessary precautions to ensure your safety and everyone else's should you decide to attend.

Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge.
