Joyce Lynn Yontz, 67, of Cambridge, died Wednesday (April 4, 2018) at the Morrison House, Zanesville, after a hard fought battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing.
She was born June 17, 1950 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Ralph Caskey and Gail (Davis) Caskey.
Mrs. Yontz retired from The Daily Jeffersonian in 2017 after fifty years of service. She had been a controller at the newspaper.
She was Rainbow Girls State officer and a Girl Scout in her youth.
She married Vernon L. Yontz on June 21, 1991. They had been together since 1979.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her uncle and aunt, Weldon and Evelyn Davis.
She is survived by her loving husband, Vernon L. Yontz; a sister-in-law, Kathy (Yontz) Hill of Newark; a niece, Jamie Wieland of Cambridge; a nephew, Tyler Hill of Byesville; and her dog, Riley.
Visitation will be held Monday (April 9, 2018) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Evang. Mark Beros officiating.
Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge.
