Juanita L. Hayes of Cambridge, died Tuesday (November 8, 2016) at the Otterbein Nursing Home in New Albany. She was born in Pleasant City, daughter of the late Rev. Harry Nixon and Delsie (Nunley) Nixon-Haugh. Mrs. Hayes was a self-employed home health care worker and had also worked at the former RCA. She was a graduate of Buffalo High School. Mrs. Hayes was a Hospice volunteer and a member of the Cambridge VFW Post 2901 Auxiliary. She was Methodist by faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Hayes; a daughter, Suzan (Stanley) Rose-Vargo; two brothers, James Nixon and John Nixon; a sister, Marguerite Tansel; and a grandson, Joshua Rose. She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Nicholas of Albuquerque NM and Patsy (& Tony) Christie of Canal Winchester; four brothers, Harry (& Jean) Nixon of Reynoldsburg, Jerry (& Pat) Nixon of Pleasant City, Bob (& Joann) Haugh of Byesville, and Bill (& Shirley) Haugh of Tennessee; a sister, Ruth Schockling of Zanesville; four grandchildren, Brittany Christie of Canal Winchester, Anthony Christie of Canal Winchester, Chantel (& Paco) Leto of Denver CO, and Cassie Rose of Clifton CO; a great-grandchild, Thea Elle Leto; a sister-in-law, Ruth Elaine Lindenmeyer of Woodsfield; and many nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held Friday (November 11, 2016) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Saturday (November 12, 2016) at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
