Julia (Prokop) Semke

Julia A. (Prokop) Semke died Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Country View Assisted Living in Lore City, OH. Julia was born November 18, 1941. in Duquesne PA, daughter of the late Andrew and Blanche (Gedman) Prokop. Julia was a loving spirit to everyone she encountered. She was a natural athlete and enjoyed decorating, collecting, baking, and gardening. She was loved by many in the community. Julia worked at Westfield Insurance, retail sales, nursery schools, and was the Director of the Board of Elections in Cambridge, OH. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved son Jay Semke, her brother Andrew Prokop and sister Genevieve (Bud) Huwalt along with nephew Gary Strichko and god- daughter Cynthia Strichko. Julia is a member of Christ our Light Parish. Julia is survived by her loving husband Ellis Semke, cherished daughter Jill (Tim) Campen, beloved grandsons Drew Semke and Ellis Campen, sisters Blanche (Paul) Francetic, Cecilia Strichko, Anita (Jim) Boffey and countless nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. Her spirit lives on through all those who love her. No calling hours will be observed. Following cremation, a memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
