In Loving Memory of Karen Doutt

With heavy hearts, the family of Karen Doutt announces her peaceful passing on Friday, July 11th, 2025, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Karen was born on February 15, 1959, in Cambridge, Ohio, to the late Walter Louis Sr. and Barbara (Slasor) Reicher. A lifelong resident of Cambridge, she graduated from Cambridge High School in 1978. She was a dedicated employee of Detroit Diesel for 23 years, where she touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness.

In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her sweet, loving brother Johnny Reicher, a brother Walter "Jr." Reicher, and her sister and best friend Tammy (Jim) Slifko; as well as her beloved in-laws, Amos and Wilma Doutt.

Karen is survived by her devoted husband of 36 years, Richie "Bear" Doutt, who never left her side, providing the type of care and compassion she deserved. Her children, Nicholas Cunningham of Cambridge, Heidi (Travis) Smith of Cambridge, Kristin Cunningham of Zanesville, and Chelsea (Devon) Singleton of Cambridge. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Kaydence Starr, Jocelynn Bryan, Claira Smith, Hadley, Parker, Dayton, Palmer and Declan Singleton, and Madelyn Tucker. She is also survived by a brother, Robert (Penny) Reicher and sister, Kathy Bethel of Cambridge, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Karen's greatest joys in life were her children and grandchildren. They will forever treasure the memories of trail walks, backyard cornhole games, holiday cookie baking, tending to her flower gardens, and singing along to country tunes and golden oldies. She also had an unwavering loyalty to the Pittsburgh Steelers (terrible towel waving and all).

Despite enduring profound personal loss, Karen remained a steady source of love and strength to those around her. She lived with integrity, worked tirelessly, and never hesitated to give her heart fully to her family and friends.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Genesis Hospice Care, with special thanks to Shelly and Julie, for their compassionate care during Karen's final years.

A private graveside service will be held, where Karen will be laid to rest at Center Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Karen's memory to Genesis Hospice Care, 713 Forest Ave. Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
