Karen S. Trott, 72, of Cambridge, died Tuesday (November 12, 2019) at Southeastern Med.
She was born October 15, 1947 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Allen Laird and Ruth (Hartwig) Laird.
Mrs. Trott had worked at Champion Spark Plug in the Quality Control department for many years. She also managed several video stores and helped to manage the 265 Carryout. Most recently, Mrs. Trott had worked as a clerk at Cambridge News.
She loved her family, especially her grandkids, and was always involved in whatever they were doing, especially sports.
Mrs. Trott enjoyed bowling and was a member of several bowling leagues. She also liked to crochet. She loved her cats, especially Tootsie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Allen Laird and Thomas D. Laird.
She is survived by her husband, Kermit Trott, whom she married January 5, 1979; two daughters, Brenda (& Lloyd) McGilton of Cambridge and Jodi Trott (& Brent King) of Frazeysburg; a sister, Connie Laird of Cambridge; a brother-in-law, Ken (& Sherry) Trott of Pleasant City; three sisters-in-law, Nancy Laird of Cambridge, Frances (& Art) Hayes of Senecaville, and Sarah (& Frank) Norman of Colorado; three grandchildren, Brittney (& Dustin) Starr, Courtney McGilton, and Trey McGilton; a great-grandson, Dawson Starr; two nephews, Mark Masters (& Janet Schlosser) and Scott Laird (& Sherry); a niece, Jaime Baker (& Matt); several other nieces & nephews; and her best friend since she was a teenager, Pam (& Bill) Nicholson.
Visitation will be held Sunday (November 17, 2019) from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Wib Bragg officiating.
Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, at a later date.
