Karla J. Hines, 54, of Lore City, died Tuesday (June 14, 2011) at her home following a battle with lung cancer. She was born December 17, 1956 in Cambridge, daughter of Evelyn (Wilson) Murrey and the late Robert Ausmus. Mrs. Hines was a manager and waitress at the former Shenandoah Truck Stop for several years. She was a graduate of Zane Trace High School. She was an avid motorcycle rider and a lover of animals. She is survived by her husband, Rodney Hines of the home; her mother, Evelyn Murrey of Cambridge; a daughter, Kari (& Blane) Kirk-Langanke of Columbus; two step-daughters, Ashley (& Jason) Gray of Cambridge and Amanda Hines of Cambridge; three brothers, Sam Ausmus of Old Washington, Kim W. Ausmus of North Carolina, and Keith Young of Zanesville; a sister, Kristi Rominger of Old Washington; two step-sisters, Julie Young of Cuyahoga Falls and Jennifer Young of Coshocton; two step-grandchildren, Cloe Willis and Connor Gray; and her step-father, Larry Young of Cambridge. Family and friends may call on Friday (June 17, 2011) from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge. Private funeral services will be held for the family at a later time with Pastor Mark Slay officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Guernsey, Inc., PO Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725.
