Kathleen Violet (Eddy) Mccleary

Kathleen Violet (Eddy) McCleary, 79, of Dresden, died Monday (December 19, 2016) at The Oaks at Northpointe, Zanesville. She was born June 20, 1937 in Guernsey County OH, daughter of the late Everett W. Eddy and Blanche (Brock) Eddy. Mrs. McCleary helped her husband on the family farm for over fifty-three years. She was also a homemaker. She was a longtime member of the Birmingham United Methodist Church. Mrs. McCleary was a 1955 graduate of Old Washington High School. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry S. McCleary, who died February 28, 2014. They were married June 30, 1956. Also deceased is a son, Jeffrey Lynn McCleary, who died in 2013; and a brother, Floyd H. Eddy. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Kay (& Gary) Uhler of Alexandria and Karen Rae (& Bob) Harris of Frazeysburg; a brother, Glenn Eddy of Fairview; five sisters, Evelyn (& Albert) Saft of Cambridge, Gertrude Kidder of Cambridge, Geneva Carpenter of Bloomington IN, Charlene (& James) Jones of Old Washington, and Mary Alice (& Matthew) Strauss of Kimbolton; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday (December 23, 2016) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Rodney West officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
