Kathryn Deel

Kathryn L. Deel, 77, of Byesville, passed away, Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Riverside Hospital in Columbus.

She was born July 17, 1944, in Gilmore County WV, daughter of the late Donnie G. Hardman and Juanita (Marks) Hardman.

Mrs. Deel worked as a waitress and manager in the restaurant industry.

She enjoyed going for walks and spending time with her grandkids.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Deel, who died in 1995.  They were married in 1969.  Also deceased is a daughter, Mary Deel; a stepdaughter, Stephanie Hardman; and two sisters.

She is survived by a son, Steve (& Kelly) Deel of North Carolina; her stepdaughter, Charley Gretz; twelve grandchildren, Petie Gravens, April Dunfee, Michelle Bost, Amber White, Zack (K-Lee) Deel, Brandy Hurd, Jennifer (Ronnie) Byars, Kenneth (Amanda) Pleasants, Tiffany Lanning, Comellia Gretz, Shawna Gretz, and Billy Gretz, and several great-grandchildren, and her special friend, Tracy Deel.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Cambridge, from 5-8 PM. Additional visitation will be at Taylor-Vandal Funeral Home in Spencer, WV, from 1-3 PM, on Friday July 1, 2022, with services to immediately follow. Interment will be held at Simmons Cemetery at Clover in Spencer, WV.
