Kay Guttery, 74, of Cambridge, died Thursday (October 30, 2014) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center. She was born August 1, 1940 in Zanesville, daughter of the late John Edward Guttery and Florence "Betty" (Brown) Guttery-Basalla. Miss Guttery was a line worker at NCR for many years. She also worked for Feed My People. She enjoyed gardening and going to crafts fairs. Miss Guttery was a US Army veteran, having served with the WAC division. She was Baptist by faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John Charles Guttery; and a brother, Clovis Guttery. She is survived by a son, Dennis Guttery of Cambridge; a brother, Charles A. (& Sandy) Guttery of Zanesville; two sisters, Judy A. (& Barry) Steed of Connecticut and Kandy S. (& Mark) LeMaster of Tennessee; her long-time friend, Dwight Mathews; special friends, Judy Hill and Betty LeMaster; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Visitation will be held Monday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Tuesday (November 4, 2014) at 11 a.m. with Pastor Larry Copley officiating. Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge, with military graveside honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
