Kay M. Spratt, 77, of Quaker City, died Saturday (September 17, 2016) at Emerald Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation of Barnesville. She was born December 7, 1938 in Monroe County, daughter of the late Elmer L. Walters and Laura (Schweda) Walters. Mrs. Spratt retired from the Guernsey County Sheriff's Office, where she had worked as a corrections officer for many years. She was a 1956 graduate of Old Washington High School and a member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband, Richard Spratt, whom she married February 11, 1973; her children, Steve Carpenter, Susan (& Jeff) Stephen of Quaker City, Sherri (& Mike) Flesher of Quaker City, David (& Kellie) Spratt of Lore City, Kristi (& Mike) Burnette of Dublin, Richard (& Elisha) Spratt of Quaker City, Randy Spratt of Byesville, Ronda Povlinko of Cambridge, and Rochelle Sherman of Lore City; a brother, John Walters of Cambridge; a sister, Barbara Davis of Michigan; and many grandchildren & great-grandchildren. No calling hours will be observed. No funeral services will be held at this time. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to one of the following organizations: 1) Quaker City Fire Department, PO Box 326, Quaker City OH 43773; or 2) Hospice of Guernsey Inc., PO Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725.
