Keith Carpenter

Keith Carpenter, 68, of Quaker City, passed away early Saturday morning (September 16, 2006) at his home. He was born April 8, 1938 in Quaker City, son of the late L. Victor Carpenter and Sylvia (Forsythe) Carpenter. Mr. Carpenter was a 1956 graduate of Quaker City High School. He was a member of Local 18/District 6 of the International Union of Operating Engineers, where he worked several years before his retirement as a crane operator. He was a member of the Noble County Fish and Game Club. He always took excellent care of his pet cats and his dog, "Hank". In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Kimberly Sue and Katie Marie. He leaves his wife, Nancy (Gattrell) Carpenter of the home, whom he married on September 15, 1956; a daughter, Susannah Gay Carpenter of Zanesville; four sons, David, Dale, Dana and Duff Carpenter all of Quaker City; a brother, Leon V. (Pat) Carpenter of Leetonia; six grandchildren, Drew (Christina) Carpenter who was raised by Keith and Nancy, David, Kyle, Lindsey, Emily and Ashley; and three great-grandchildren, Devon, Alexandria and Dylan. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where services will be held on Wednesday (September 20, 2006) at 11 a.m. with Rev. Wayne Hogue officiating. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City.
