Kelsie L. Bates

Kelsie L. Bates, 22, of Quaker City, died Sunday (July 22, 2012) as the result of an accident. She was born August 29, 1989 in Cambridge, daughter of Joseph Bates and Kristie (Eagon) Bates. Miss Bates was a 2008 graduate of Buckeye Trail High School and was currently attending Muskingum University. She was an employee of Building Blocks. Miss Bates attended the Salesville Church of Faith. She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents and several uncles. She is survived by her parents, Joseph & Kristie Bates of Quaker City; two brothers, Brett Bates (who called his sister "Ju Juice") and Blake Bates (who called his sister "Issy") both of Quaker City; her maternal grandparents, Alan & Maxine Eagon of Quaker City; her paternal grandparents, Pam & Tom Lower of Reynoldsburg and Jerry & Rita Bates of Salesville; her great-grandmother, Donna Eagon of Batesville; aunts and uncles, Todd (& Brandi) Eagon of Quaker City, Tim "T" (& Jill) Eagon of Quaker City, Josh (& Kayla) Eagon of Salesville, Missy (& Mike) Kemphfer of Dover, Nicole (& Bill) Moss of New Philadelphia, Brian Carpenter of Reynoldsburg, Terida (& Jason) Williams of Quaker City, and Anettra (& Chad) Hastings of Salesville; and her fiancé, Kevin Blair of Cambridge. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where funeral services will be held on Thursday (July 26, 2012) at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jim Lee officiating. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City.
