Kenneth "Ray" Ferrell, 66, of Salesville passed away Monday (July 29, 2013) at SEORMC. He was born June 6, 1947 in White Oak, WV and was the son of the late Emory and Bonnie Jo (Chapman) Ferrell. Mr. Ferrell was in the Plumber's and Pipefitter's Local Union #495 and was also the owner/operator of the Mountain Heir Bluegrass Festival. He was an Eastern Orthodox Christian. He was a great family man and role model for his children and grand children. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Connie (Hensley) Ferrell whom he married February 18, 1967 and passed away September 25, 2010; one son Britt; two granddaughters; one brother and one sister. He is survived by one son B.J. Ferrell of Salesville; two daughters, Joy (Jerry) Costello of Salesville and Kim Ferrell of Lore City; three brothers, Emmett (Gayle) Ferrell of Melbourne, FL, Steven (Pam) Ferrell of Soth, WV, and Gary Ferrell of PA.; two sisters, Debra Moss of PA. and Vicki (Jamie) Nealey of VA.; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; many close friends. Calling hours will be Thursday from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge where services will follow at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in Old Washington Cemetery.
