Kenneth Fredrick Harrison, 93, of Cambridge, died Friday (August 14, 2015) at his home. He was born December 11, 1921 in Indianapolis IN, son of the late Ernest Harrison and Angie (Mascoe) Harrison. Mr. Harrison had been an electrician, having worked at Ohio Power, RCA, and later retiring in 1983 from General Tire of Newcomerstown. He was a member of the United Rubber Workers Union. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 632 of the Free and Accepted Masons, a member of the American Legion of Cambridge, a member of the Kipling VFW Post 7371, and a previous member of the Lions Club. He was a 1940 graduate of Salamanca High School. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Cambridge and in recent years, he attended Christ United Methodist Church with his daughter. Mr. Harrison was a WWII veteran having served with both the US Air Force and the US Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Williams) Harrison, who died May 12, 2007. They were married December 16, 1945. Also deceased are three brothers, Joseph, Leroy, and William; and an infant son. He is survived by a daughter, Sandra (& David) Black of Cambridge; a son, Kenneth R. Harrison; a brother, Donald (& Carolyn) Harrison of Lake Orion MI; two grandchildren, Angie (& Dayle) Hill and Scott (& Cara) Black; five great-grandchildren, Connor Black, Braden Black, Alaina Black, Charley Hill, and Emily Hill; and several nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday (August 17, 2015) at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, with Pastor Sturman Moore and Pastor Wilbur Bragg officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, with military honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council. As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 3850 Seltzer Road, Columbus OH 43215.
