Kenneth Hayes

Kenneth G. "Kenny" Hayes, 76, of Lore City, died Tuesday (July 23, 2019) at Southeastern Med, Cambridge.

He was born October 31, 1942 in Guernsey County, son of the late Foster Hayes and Ildreth (Stallings) Hayes.

A 1960 graduate of Zane Trace High School and later a graduate of Hocking Technical College, Kenny had worked for many years with the State of Ohio. He served as a supervisor for the Interstate 70 road & bridge work division.

Kenny and his wife, Joan, had also been the former owners of the Airport Inn.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, and taking care of his animals. He was proud of his '29 Model A Ford convertible.

Kenny was a member of the Old Washington Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Hayes; and his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Jerome and Martha Brownfield.

He is survived by his wife, Joan (Brownfield) Hayes, whom he married May 20, 1966; two sons, Brian Hayes of Canal Winchester and Scott Hayes (& his fiancée, Pam Parks) of Lore City; two sisters, Helen (& Bill) Kahrig of Salesville and Connie Galloway of Cincinnati; a grandchild, Brady Hayes; several nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Jean Lowry of Old Washington and Patty Payton of Cambridge; and his three good friends, Ronnie (& Janet) Dennis, John (& Karen) Jones, and Gene Treherne.

No calling hours will be observed. No funeral services will be held.
