Kermit John Trott, 72, of Cambridge passed away Monday (August 16, 2021) at Veterans Homeland at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center.
He was born October 6, 1948 in Cambridge, son of the late Kenneth L. Trott and Shirley (Chalfant) Trott-Bromelow.
Mr. Trott was a self-employed Carpenter, working many years for Jack Cartner and family. He was a US Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War as a bridge engineer. He was awarded the Purple Heart, the Vietnam Cross Of Gallantry, and many other accolades from the government for his service. He was a 100% disabled veteran.
In addition to his parents, Kermit was preceded in death by his wife, Karen S. (Laird) Trott, whom he married January 5, 1979 and passed away November 12, 2019; and a sister Sandy Masters in 2005.
He will be sadly missed by his daughters, Brenda (Lloyd) McGilton of Cambridge and Jodi Trott (Brent King) of Frazeysburg; one brother, Ken (Sherry) Trott of Pleasant City; two sisters, Frances (Art) Hayes of Senecaville and Sarah Norman of Colorado; three grandchildren, Brittney (Dustin) Starr, Courtney McGilton (Zach Hendershot) and Trey McGilton; two great-grandchildren, Dawson and Brynlee Starr; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial visitation hours will be held Sunday (August 29, 2021) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge. Graveside services and burial will follow at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, with military graveside honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
