Kimberly Ann (Evans) Mercer, 55, of Cambridge, died Friday (June 13, 2014) at The Ohio State University Medical Center. She was born June 3, 1959, in Cambridge, daughter of the late Larry Evans and Paul Todd Evans. Mrs. Mercer retired from the Cambridge Developmental Center, having served as a mental health tech. She was known as a child care provider to numerous children. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She was a voracious reader and loved her family very much. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and cross stitching. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Jamie; a son, Matthew; and three brothers, Larry Wilson Jr., James (Tiny) Evans and Brian Evans. She leaves her husband, Randy Mercer of Cambridge; two daughters, Kali (Eddie) Wears Jr. of Old Washington and Sarah (Alec) Pyers of Cambridge; a sister, Melissa (Mark) Nuerberger of West Falls, N.Y.; two half-sisters, Sherrie Evans and Wendy (Paul) Voytko, both of Cambridge; and a beloved granddaughter, Molly Pyers. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today (Sunday) at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will be 11 a.m. Monday with Pastors Sturman Moore and Mark Slay officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Byesville.
