Lanta "Lanny" L. Archer

Lanta "Lanny" L. Archer, 66, of Cambridge, died Wednesday (January 25, 2017) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge.

He was born June 2, 1950 in Cambridge, son of the late Robert Phillip Archer and Edith Lucille (Gibson) Archer.

Mr. Archer had worked for forty-four years at Ohio Bridge, where he was the facilities manager.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 66 F & AM and Scottish Rite, Valley of Cambridge.

He cherished spending time with his family.

Mr. Archer was a 1969 graduate of Cambridge High School.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Lauer; and a brother, Jerry W. Hanes.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Miller) Archer, whom he married June 21, 1970; a son, Lanta Phillip (& Tina) Archer of Kimbolton; a daughter, Shannon L. Archer of Cambridge; two sisters, Bobbie Jean Harding of Cambridge and Carol Mohler of Cambridge; two brothers, Trent (& Judi) Hanes of Cambridge and Charles (& Shirley) Hanes Jr. of Kimbolton; three grandchildren, Corporal Sterling R.D. Davis of Parris Island SC, Chad (& Kaci) Kinnan of Kimbolton, and Chris (& Robin) Kinnan of Kimbolton; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday (January 29, 2017) from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where Guernsey Lodge # 66 will hold Masonic services beginning at 4 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Monday (January 30, 2017) at 11 a.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge.

Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge.
